Göttelmann 2022 Dautenpflänzer Riesling dry, 75cL, Dry White WineBy Winebuyers

£20.15

Göttelmann 2022 Dautenpflänzer Riesling dry is a wine from a unique vineyard located on red slate, between houses. The terroir is described as 'internet and phone lines.' This wine is gentle, just like its winemaker. It has peachy, juicy, silky fruit with spice that reminds one of a Chelsea bun or apple-and-cinnamon Danish pastry. This is a wine equivalent of comfort food – it will dry your tears. It's a hug. Tasted by Tamlyn Currin, a wine writer for Jancis Robinson, this dry Riesling has aromas of white currants, with a long lasting aromatic aftertaste. It's matured in large wooden casks made of Hunsrück oak, where you can taste the essence of the wood in the wine. The Riesling grapes grow on steep vineyard slopes, where the stony soil is rich in red quarzite slate. The vines there are over 35 years old, and the yield is no more than 0.5l per square metre. The ripe green berries with red cheeks were harvested by hand in the second week of October. The wine fermented with indigenous yeast in stainless steel vats and matured in large Hunsrück oak barrels. Suitable for both men and women.
