This Riesling Premier Cru has subtle fruity notes, a spicy and herbaceous aroma and long lasting mineralic flavour. It is powerful, yet elegant. The Iphöfer Julius-Echter-Berg vineyard, located on the south-western flank of the Schwanberg, boasts south-facing slopes with a gradient of up to 60% and measured surface temperatures of 70°C, making it the hottest vineyard in the Franken region. The Keuper rich soil, composed of sedimentary rock with gypsum veins, gives the wine its power and fullness, while the gypsum contributes a milder acidity and distinct minerality. This Premier Cru dry white wine, made from Riesling, a noble grape variety, has fine fruit aromas and a great elegance, grown in the best areas in Franconia. The wine has a clear fruit play of peach and apricot and is balanced in taste.
