This 75cl Bassermann-Jordan 2019 Deidesheimer Hohenmorgen Riesling Auslese is a wine from the von Bassermann-Jordan Estate. The Hohenmorgen vineyard, situated on the western brim of Deidesheim, is one of the oldest examples of palatinated quality wine making. The south-facing slope has a total surface of 2.76ha, with 2.09ha owned by the estate. It is the smallest and most exclusive vineyard of Deidesheim, with the highest rated quality of soil. The wine has a nose of apricot, pear, quince, lemon, and orange. On the palate, it is fresh and elegant with nice minerality and acidity. It is recommended as a starter to your dinner, to pair with desserts, or late or foie gras. The wine-making process involves selective harvest by hand in several passages. The fermentation is complete and spontaneous, with 10% fermented in traditional oak barrel and 90% in stainless steel. The soil is a mix of loam and sand-loam with a lot of eroded sandstone. This wine has an alcohol content of 7.5% vol, residual sugar of 143.6 g/l, and acidity of 9.2 g/l. It comes in a 0.375l/75cl size and is suitable for both men and women.
