This Bassermann-Jordan 2018 Deidesheimer Hohenmorgen Riesling Auslese is a 75cl white wine. The vineyard, situated on the western brim of Deidesheim, is one of the oldest examples of Palatinate quality wine making. The Hohenmorgen vineyard is a south-facing slope with a total surface of 2.76 hectares, 2.09 hectares of which are owned by the Bassermann-Jordan Estate. It is the smallest and most exclusive vineyard in Deidesheim, with the highest rated quality of soil. The wine has a deliciously balanced minerality and acidity. On the nose, it has aromas of apricot, pear, quince, lemon zest, and orange. The winemaking process involved a selective harvest by hand in several passages, with complete spontaneous fermentation: 10% fermented in traditional oak barrel, 90% in stainless steel. The soil is a mix of loam and sandy-loam with lots of eroded sandstone. This wine is suitable as a starter to your dinner or paired with desserts. It has an alcohol content of 9.0% vol., residual sugar of 103.9 g/l, and acidity of 9.8 g/l. The wine is available in a 75cl size and is suitable for both men and women.
