This Riesling Auslese has intense fruit flavours. It's a heartbreakingly delicious wine, with a beautiful harp-like intensity and humming notes that are perfectly balanced. The wine is delicately spicy and has a cashmere-like texture, with a limpid quality that's hard to resist. It's a wine that should be savoured, not rushed, and is best enjoyed at its own pace. The vineyard is classified as VDP Grosse Lage, the highest classification of quality for German vineyards, and the grapes were harvested from K. F. Groebe's oldest Riesling vineyards in Kirchspiel, where the vines are over 50 years old. The vineyard is located on the upper slopes of a south-easterly hillside, protected from cold winds by a chain of hills to the west and north. The vines enjoy optimum exposure to the sun due to the gradient and exposition of the land.
