Becker 2020 St. Paul Spätburgunder Grand Cru dry is a fine, medium-strong ruby red wine. It has a scent of juniper berries, wild berries, tobacco, pepper, and forest floor on the nose. The wine is dense on the palate with strong substance and youthful tannins. It is juicy with a very good length and the best structure. This south-facing vineyard is located in Weissenburg on a large limestone rock with very little circulation of loamy-clayey topsoil. The grapes were carefully selected and de-stemmed by hand and fermented on the mash. After 2 to 3 weeks fermentation in open oak vats, they were gently pressed. Further maturation for 18 months in small French oak barrels. Bottling without filtration and fining of the wine. A great wine with great storage potential.
