This 100% straight rye whiskey is distilled in Alberta, Canada, where it's initially aged in new American oak barrels. The whiskey is then transported south to the Whistlepig Farm in Vermont, where it continues to age for up to 10 years, developing notes of warming rye spice and sweet caramel. A warming aroma of fresh doughnuts and chocolate chip cookie dough, smothered in vanilla ice cream and a thick butterscotch sauce, greets the senses. On the palate, it's bready and peppery, with more sugar-dusted doughnuts filled with raspberry jam. Warm baking spices of clove and pepper build into the mid-palate as it ends on notes of liquorice and burnt caramels. Enjoy it neat or in a Maple Old Fashioned, substituting sugar for maple syrup for a true taste of Canada.
