Add a burst of fragrance and colour to your garden with Thompson & Morgan Dianthus Summer Sundae Seeds, offering sweet scented blooms that appear in the first year and work beautifully in cottage garden borders, beds and containers. You'll find these hardy perennials are easy to sow and grow, making them a delightful choice for gardeners of all levels, and their edible petals can be used to decorate cakes or add a subtle flavour to soups, salads and sauces. With a compact habit and a height of up to 60cm, they'll brighten up any sunny spot and attract pollinators throughout the summer. How to grow: Sow February to April. Germinate at 18-20C (64-68F) on the surface of a good free draining, damp seed compost. Do not cover the seed. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 7-21 days. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into trays or 7.5cm (3 inch) pots. Grow on in cooler conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12 inch) apart.
