It produces blunt-tipped, medium-length carrots that feature minimal core development. These carrots are a rich orange colour with a sweet, crunchy flavour. They are suitable as both a second early and a main crop, making them perfect for freezing. Characterised by excellent resistance to carrot fly, early maturing varieties can be sown under cloches from March or directly outdoors from April to July. Maincrop varieties should be sown outdoors between April and June. When it comes to forcing, certain varieties can be cultivated to yield an early crop, suitable for sowing under glass from November to February.
