The Liberator 'Last Leaf on the Tree' Riesling 2021 is a dry, nervy, and citrus-charged wine from a high-elevation site in Elgin, one of the few places in South Africa cool enough to make Riesling. It's a proper cool-climate Riesling with a taut backbone of acidity and a whisper of bottle age. The wine is made from a small parcel of vines, one of the last remaining in the region. It has a stony elegance with notes of lime pith, green apple, and a flicker of beeswax. A great choice for those who love Riesling.
