This is a modern Madiran wine from the Plaimont vineyards in South-West France. It has intense aromas of blackberries and dried plums with liquorice, black pepper and a hint of cocoa. The attack is fresh, the tannins are discreet and the mouthfeel is balanced. A powerful, hearty wine with a velvety texture, it is long and intense. It works well with rustic grilled meat or earthy vegetarian dishes, classic of the region. Decanter World Wine Awards gave it a 95-point Best Value Award.
