Upright with branching stems bearing lance-shaped leaves, ragged robin dazzles with terminal clusters of star-shaped, deep rose-pink flowers, narrowly dissected to which insects flock in late spring and early summer. Garden care: Apply a generous mulch of well-rotted compost around the base of the plant in early spring. Cut back the faded flowerheads in late summer and autumn.
