The producer, Lucien Le Moine, is a unique 'non-estate' as the wines are sourced throughout Burgundy, especially in Chambolle, Gevrey, Morey, Vosne, and Vougeot (red) as well as in Corton Charlemagne (white) primarily from Grand and Premier Cru usually in small parcels. Exceptionally fine vineyard land is owned in Vosne, and the wines from Vosne have exceptional concentration and depth! The wines are then treated to elevage as deemed fit by winemaker Rotem Saouma, who describes his wines as a 'library of the greatest Premier and Grand Cru vineyards in the Cote d'Or'. The wines invariably show lovely sweetness of fruit and perfect spicing of oak. Unusual, possibly, but exceptional, definitely! The Saoumas work only with the finest vineyards and most attentive vine growers, and Les Suchots premier cru is no exception. This wine is suitable for both men and women.
