A much sought-after single malt with massive peat-smoke but also offering richness and a dryness. The 16 year old has truly become a benchmark Islay dram from the Lagavulin distillery. On the palate, it's very thick and rich, with a massive mouthful of malt and Sherry, good fruity sweetness, and a wonderful balance of peat and oak. It's a big, powerful whisky. Most recently, it won a Gold in the World Whiskies Awards for Islay Single Malt 13 to 20 Years in 2016.
