Isole e Olena Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2013 Red Wine 75cLBy Winebuyers

£189

Isole e Olena's Chianti Classico Gran Selezione is a blend of mostly Sangiovese with a soupcon of Merlot. The wine is matured in second passage oak barriques. The 45 hectares of vineyards are situated at elevations of 350-450 meters above sea level in the western part of Chianti Classico, just north of the village of Castellina. This cooler region allows the grapes to ripen later, preserving their freshness and resulting in a more fragrant and elegant profile. The wine is a product of the de Marchi family's estate, which was created in the 1950s by combining two adjoining estates, Isole and Olena. The family has spent decades replanting and improving the vineyards, with Paolo de Marchi taking over the property in 1976.

Isole e Olena Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG is an excellent choice for those looking to enjoy an exceptional glass of red wine with a premium price tag.
