Gomez Cruzado's 'Terroir Selection' - Cerro Las Cuevas is an expression of the climate of northern Rioja Alavesa. The white clay and limestone soils, high altitude, and colder and wetter climate influenced by the Atlantic produce a wine with great structure and concentration. This wine is expressive and lively, with vibrant fruit, floral and perfumed notes, and a lot less oak influence than in previous vintages. It has a different texture and quality of tannins. Grapes are sourced from vineyards in Ollauri, where vines date back 90 years and grow on a steeply sloping narrow plot. The main variety grown is Tempranillo, but also Graciano, Mazuelo and Garnacha. This wine is suitable for both men and women to enjoy.
