Offset bends are commonly used to form what is known as a swan neck. This is the term given for two offset bends used together with a small piece of pipe in between that allows the downpipe to drop from the fascia and return to the wall below the soffit. The cast iron effect offset is a more decorative fitting than normal offsets, with its striking feature grooves.Never use sealant or solvent weld when making a swan neck as you may need to dissemble the fitting for cleaning at some point. You can view our PBSL Group overview here for all types of offset bends; For a video tutorial showing exactly how to make the swan neck, please click here.
