Dom. Jean-Paul Jamet Cote Rotie Red Wine, 75cL, 2016, France, Northern Rhone, Syrah, Bold and Structured, DryBy Winebuyers

£249

Domaine Jamet, founded by Joseph Jamet in 1950, began bottling their own wines in 1976. Since 1991, the estate was managed by brothers, Jean-Paul Jamet and Jean-Luc, but in 2013, Jean-Luc decided to start his own domaine, leaving Jean-Paul today fully in charge of the family domaine. The domaine is located on a plateau in the village of Le Vallin, in the hills above Cote Rotie close to Ampuis. Today the estate produces three different Cote Roties from 8.5 hectares of vineyards. The Cote Rotie is blended from a variety of terroirs, aspects, and vine age, in order to achieve the most balanced and complex expression of the commune. It is made from 100% Syrah grapes, whole bunch fermented, and macerated for about 3 weeks, then aged for 22 months in barrels, of which 15% are new. This bold and structured wine is a dry red wine, perfect for those who enjoy a full-bodied wine.
