Dom. Comte Georges de Vogue, Musigny Grand Cru 'Cuvee Vieilles Vignes', Chambolle Musigny, 2019 is a 75cl red wine. The producer, originally dating back to 1450, was acquired by the de Vogue family in 1766. Comte Georges de Vogue took over in 1925 and led the estate into fame in the following decades. The current generation of winemaker and vignerons have the estate in top form, universally considered one of the great estates of Burgundy. The name of the Comte de Vogue became synonymous with that of Chambolle-Musigny, perhaps because they hold 7.25ha of the total 10.7ha of Le Musigny itself, and 2.75ha of Bonnes-Mares with a further 1.8ha of Premier Cru. The Comtes de Vogue labels a great wine under the Premier Cru banner from young Grand Cru vines, and de-classified Grand Cru wines, that is a mini-Musigny. They also bottle an extremely rare Musigny Blanc. Comte Georges de Vogue is the largest landowner in the Musigny Grand Cru, with 7.25 hectares, thus owning 70% of the entire grand cru. This is a fine expression of Pinot Noir, more structured than some other wines. The wine is suitable for both men and women.
