£7.99

Create your own cottage garden. Position: full sun Soil: poor, well-drained soil Rate of growth: average Hardiness: fully hardy These wildflowers are all ideal for the cottage garden, where they can be used to create swathes of purple, blue and white flowers in summer. They have been selected, not only for their beauty and form, but also for their ability to attract birds, bees, butterflies and moths. One packet containing 2 grams of seeds will cover approximately 2 square meters. The collection contains: cornflower Centaurea cyanus evening primrose - Oenothera biennis foxglove - Digitalis purpurea lupin - Lupinus polyphyllus ox-eye daisy - Leucanthemum vulgare teasel - Dipsacus fullonum Garden care: Rake the soil well to form a fine tilth and then sow seeds, scattering them evenly before raking them in and firming down. Wildflowers prefer poor soils so avoid using fertilisers. Keep them well watered initially and remove any weeds if they appear. After they have finished flowering, do not cut the old plants back until they have scattered their seed as this may result in another crop of flowers in the following year. Sow: March - October Flowering: June - September
