It’s intended primarily to replace the ISR 4000 Series NIM-ES2 switch module family, to which it has full feature parity for Layer 2 switching operation, and also includes added Layer 2 features. It supports 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 1000BASE-T Ethernet connections, providing a price-effective 8-port LAN switch.
