1 x 75cl. The producer, Chateau Margaux, has a long history among the First Growths of Bordeaux. Despite a long history of inconsistency, the estate languished in the 1960s and 1970s, often eclipsed by Chateau Palmer. This all changed with the arrival of the Mentzelopoulos family in 1977. Even the 1978 vintage was a vast improvement, and things escalated from there on. Since the 1982 and 1983 vintages, Chateau Margaux has contended comfortably with the other First Growths. The estate has continued to invest in vineyards and winery to improve further. Chateau Margaux is sometimes considered the most Burgundian of the great Bordeaux, indeed even called the Musigny of Bordeaux" despite more than 80% Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine boasts great aromatic charm and a gracefulness rarely achieved in Bordeaux. It is not too rich and can age to great advantage for decades. This wine is suitable for both men and women."
The Ch. Margaux 1st Growth Grand Cru Classe Margaux, a 2016 vintage red wine, would be perfect for sophisticated wine enthusiasts seeking a prestige single-vineyard Margaux with depth and purity.
