This Biscardo Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva 2011 is an intense garnet-red wine from Italy. Its bouquet features beautiful cherry hints, while the palate is velvety smooth with slightly bitter cherry flavours and almonds. The vineyards are cultivated on hills around Verona, where the grapes are hand-picked and dried to concentrate the remaining sugars and flavours. The quality of the grape skin is a primary concern, as it brings the tannins, colour and intensity of flavour to the wine. Following drying, the grapes are crushed and go through a fermentation process, then aged to create a balanced wine.
