At 4,265 feet (1,300m), Gualtallary in the Uco Valley is one of Argentina's highest wine-producing areas. The intense sunlight and cool climate work in concert with calcareous soils to produce wines of extraordinary intensity and structure, coupled to vivid fruit and taut acidity. Containing a significant proportion (15%) of Cabernet Franc, blended with Malbec, the aptly-named Expresivo is bright and fresh, with highly distinctive blackberry, pink pepper and violet aromas. It stands out for its stony notes, vibrant acidity, firm tannins and exceptional balance. A fabulous wine, it offers outstanding cellaring potential.
