Becker 2020 Heydenreich Spätburgunder Grand Cru dry is a 75cl wine. The vineyard is located in a south-facing area above the VDP.Gorsse Gewäch 'Sankt Paul' in Alsatian Weissenburg. The soil is based on a large limestone rock with a low circulation of clayey loamy topsoil. The grapes were carefully selected by hand, de-stemmed, and fermented on the mash. After 3 weeks of fermentation in open oak vats, they were gently pressed. The following maturation was for 18 months in small oak barrels. The wine was filled without filtration and fining. It has an intense and dense ruby red color. The scent is wonderful, with notes of blackberries, cherry, pipe-tobacco, vanilla, and bittersweet chocolate. The wine has strong tannin, is punchy yet elegant, and has a flattering mouthfeel with endless play and elegant reverberation. It has great storage potential. The wine is suitable for both men and women.
