Bassermann-Jordan 2020 Pechstein Riesling Grand Cru dry, 75cL, 13.0% vol, Volcanic Basalt Soil, WinebuyersBy Winebuyers

£73.70

Bassermann-Jordan 2020 Pechstein Riesling Grand Cru dry is a 75cl wine. The vineyard is south-east facing with a total surface of 15.3ha, of which 0.75ha is held by the Bassermann-Jordan Estate. The name is given by the black Basalt stones, which originate from volcanic origins. The soil is composed of volcanic stones named Basalt with sandy clay and loam, partly some limestone. The grapes were harvested in several stages from mid-October until the end of October. They were pressed separately and very carefully, then fermented in different wooden casks and left on the first yeast until bottling on the 17th of July. On the nose, light and well-integrated wooden aromas with stone fruits, bright flowers, and wet stone are present. On the palate, the wine is elegant and delicate with a long finish. With time, it becomes more complex and intense, with notes of white peach and strong, salty minerality. It's a great match for seawater fish and shellfish. The wine has an alcohol content of 13.0% vol., a residual sugar of 0.6 g/l, and an acidity of 8.8 g/l. It's suitable for both women and men.
